Foundation / National Grants

The Best Buy Children's Foundation strengthens communities by supporting organizations that empower teens to thrive. Through our @15 initiative we are committed to funding programs that will help teens excel in school, engage in their communities, and develop life and leadership skills. Please read the guidelines to ensure your organization meets our eligibility requirements or refer to the instructions to assist you with the process.

 

Who May Apply for National Grants

Organizations must meet the following criteria to be considered for a national grant from the Best Buy Children's Foundation.

  • Nonprofit 501(c)3 certified organization
  • Serve a national audience
  • Have a national distribution plan in place
  • Provide positive experiences that will empower early adolescents (primarily ages 12-17) to excel in school, engage in their communities, and develop life and leadership skills.

We Do Not Fund

  • Organizations not certified as 501(c)3 by the IRS
  • Organizations more frequently than annually (not including TagTeam Awards)
  • Individuals
  • Schools (please refer to Teach@15 Program)
  • General operating expenses
  • Product requests
  • Endowments
  • Fraternal organizations or social clubs
  • Units of government or quasi-governmental agencies
  • Labor organizations or political campaigns
  • Organizations designed primarily for lobbying
  • For-profit organizations or travel programs
  • Fundraising dinners, testimonials, conferences or similar events
  • Sole support of operating or advertising expenses
  • Religious organizations for religious purposes
  • Health, medical, or therapeutic programs or living subsidies
  • Athletic teams or events
  • Multi-year requests (grants must be reviewed/made annually)
